I am a Filipino citizen, deeply concerned about the deep-seated nepotism in our political environment. As we know, political dynasties have been a prevalent issue in Philippine politics. I witness this persisting political culture where families monopolize governmental power, confining our nation's leadership within a few influential bloodlines. Such concentration of power has significant implications on our democracy and socioeconomic development.

According to a study by the Ateneo School of Government and Asian Institute of Management Policy Center, about 80% of our provincial governors and 78% of our congress representatives are from political dynasties. This concentration of power can lead to corruption, stagnant economic development, and a government that is less responsive to constituents' needs.

By signing this petition, we are calling on lawmakers to pass an Anti-Political Dynasty Law. This law will level the political playing field, uphold our democratic processes, and encourage new leaders committed to serving the country's interest. Remind them of the 1987 Philippine Constitution's Article II, Section 26, which states, "The State shall guarantee equal access to public service and prohibit political dynasties as may be defined by law."
