After receiving news that Clifton High School will be implementing a Phone Pouch system that requires students to put their phone away in a pouch until the end of a period, it has enraged the student populus. 

Not only does this take away something that has become integral to many student's lives, it can be something that is life saving. Many students with health problems use their phone to track them, such as students with diabetes. I know several diabetic students who use apps to track their glucose and sugar intake and their levels in general. Depriving a student the ability to track something as important as blood sugar can cause harm to them and can lead to health problems. 

Not only does it cause potential health risks, it can cause problems for multiple students. Some students with strict parents can get in trouble for not responding in time but due to this new policy it will not allow for students to respond to parents in a timely manner.

Now, in the event that no one likes to discus, in the event that a emergency happens at the school, such as a shooting or fire, student's will have no way to reach out to parents. This is something that scares many students. Possibly being in one of your last moments because of something entirely out of your own control, and not being able to tell your parents what's going on because of a flawed system that takes away a student's ability to reach out? This is a terrifying possibility that no one likes to face. 

Please, take into consideration all of these problems with this new phone pouch system and how it can affect students.
