Ban Pakistani Drama YouTube Channels in India Promoting Damaging Marriage Practices

The Issue

Harmful societal norms and practices, such as forced marriages, child marriages, contract marriages, and revenge marriages, are being indirectly promoted through Pakistani drama YouTube channels in India. According to UNICEF, 27% of girls in India are married before their 18th birthday and 7% are married before the age of 15. Disturbingly, these channels may be contributing to the perpetuation of these harmful practices. Many of the dramas depict these unethical marriage practices as a norm, making it seem acceptable when it's not. This not only sets a dangerous precedent for impressionable viewers but also contradicts the International Human Rights law, which strongly condemns forced and child marriages. It's high time we tackle this issue head-on. Sign the petition to call on Indian authorities to ban these channels. Let's protect our society from harmful influences and promote healthier, more respectful portrayals of relationships. Sign this petition and stand up against promotion of improper marital practices.
