AI Art actively hurts people in many ways, not just artists. It actively steals art from artists without permission which goes against copyright law in itself, and makes it harder for smaller Artists to grow if their style gets stolen, making others accuse them of using AI plus, most artists live off of commissions and AI art takes that away from artists. AI can also be used to spread misinformation. With how realistic it can get, sometimes people will believe that it could be real, which IS a crime in certain cases. And lastly, AI art uses a LOT of energy to keep it running, which is bad for the planet as a whole. If we stop or at least restrict certain aspects of AI art there will be less suffering to both artists and nonartists.
