PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SIGN MY PETITION.

I have created this petition because I'm heartbroken every time there is a firework explosion nearby my home. I am the owner of a beautiful little Yorkie called teddy. He really struggles this time of year and any other time that fireworks are set off. We have tried medication, thunder coats etc etc but to no avail to aid him. I am heartbroken when I see him shaking in a corner in sheer panic. I know many of you pet owners have very similar stories to Teddies. I hate the fact that I'm helpless in this situation. As we know some pets suffer with extra sensitive hearing I imagine to them they feel like they are under personal attack. I for one want to enforce upon the government the ban of the sales of fireworks to members of the public anytime of the year full stop. I am not calling for a ban on professionally operated firework displays on pre advertised dates . Children love seeing fireworks but there is no reason why they need to see them in domestic gardens and not at displayed events only . Those breaking these rules should be punished with hefty fines. Not every pet owner will agree with me because maybe they are the fortunate ones with pets that take no notice of fireworks, that's absolutely fine but there is many, many of us that aren't so fortunate and desperately ask for this change in law.
