TRIGGER WARNING//Sexual Violence

Shamira is a first year at Spelman College who was sexually assaulted by Nicholas Allen a 21-year old Morehouse Student. For the past 8 months she has refrained from bringing this story to light but is doing so now out of concerns for the safety of other women in the broader AUC.

Nicholas Allen has drugged girls and has admitted to violently raping/assaulting multiple women. Residence in the vicinity of Nicholas Allen have admitted to hearing women screaming and crying from the perpetrator’s room in DuBois. 

When Shamira attempted to go through a formal process at Spelman College she didn’t receive anything beyond getting Nicholas Allen banned from Spelman College but he in retaliation banned Shamira from Morehouse College.

Nicholas Allen’s actions are that of a serial offender. Spelman College in particular has a duty to protect women from people like Nicholas Allen. While Morehouse College as an institution while molding Black Boys into Men should be focused on showing men that part of being a man is holding their brothers accountable. 

This petition is demanding for three things….

1. Nicholas Allen be removed from The Atlanta University Center (AUC) Immediately and that moving forward known sexual offenders at any institution in The AUC be dismissed from their respective institutions as well.
2. Shamira’s rights as a student of The AUC be restored at Morehouse College
3. The formal denouncement of Nicholas Allen’s Actions by all student organizations he was/is apart of

By advocating for these demands to be met by the administration, Shamira and her supporters hope to make The Atlanta University Center a safer place for all!!
