Local residents from Bayview NSW & surrounds have requested Mr Rob Stokes MP to call for  a blanket ban on seniors housing development applications , pending a review in light of a predicted increase in catastrophic bush fire conditions as is happening now around the State.

Minister Stokes said the State Government had increased its requirements for proposed senior's housing in bushfire prone lands .

A “cumulative impact “ assessment must be completed, when the proposed site is within one kilometre of another senior's development as is the case of the Bayview Golf Course site being in bushfire prone zone and being less than a kilometre from  3 other retirement villages .

Also approval must be obtained from the  RFS Commissioner.

Mr Stokes said “ the safety of our community is of paramount importance” .
