If you are thinking of buying a FLOWHIVE please watch this.
Thanks to @mckayjo for giving an honest appraisal of the @flowhive.
As my role as founder of SavetheBeesAustralia I have provided rescued bee colonies and help mentor and set people up with bees for their Flowhive’s.
It is a hive that has made me feel uncomfortable and given me many frustrations over the years.
So many issues including bees reluctant to except the plastic, increase in swarming, honey crystallising in the frames, harvest taking a long time to eventually drip out, sometimes they leak and bees drown, frames warp and break, and it’s common for ants infiltrate areas of the frame and people extracting to much honey causing starvation.
My clients have now converted their Flowhive’s to regular hives.

There are over 80000 sets of plastic hives out there now. So now the environmental friendly pursuit of beekeeping is adding to the already devastating plastic waste issue we have globally.
Using plastic in a beehive is unnecessary and we should all be trying to eliminate the unnecessary use of plastic. Thanks @plasticfreemermaid for showing me how to do this everyday.
A honeybee colony is sacred. The wax is the skin and honey is the blood without either the colony can not survive. I think it’s unfair for humans to decide to inflict petrochemical waste on a insect that has been living in harmony with the earth for millions of years.
If you see an beekeeping influencer only praising the positive and withholding the negative check if they are a paid ambassador.
Sadly despite relying on insects for their income the FLOWHIVE have not called for a ban of Neonicotinoids in Australia .
