Ive always felt strongly about using horses for labor as in drawn carriages or by “mounted police” (now considered mall cops in some counties because they’ve been removed everywhere else). 

Lately I’m seeing more and more articles on horse injuries especially in NYC due to drawn carriages each day and I will provide links to the most recent ones i’ve found, there’s a countless amount of reasons both carriages and mounted police horses should be retired for good, but i’ll name a few in my own words that PETA, humane resources & many others have said before me:

• The humans in power have the capability and DO take advantage of the fact they can control the animals in painful ways. For example, the Woodlands Texas Patrol horses are tortured everyday on duty with these bits that are connected to the reins. (Picture Below) From the first sentence, “SHANK”. Imagine someone putting clamps with shanks in your cheeks to command your every movement. Many horses have been injured by collisions with cars when pulling carriages, but horses should be in fields. We are in 2022, PLEASE stand with me to end this cycle.
• We no longer need to force animals to do a job a Segway, Scooter, Golf-Cart or other motorized vehicle can. We no longer need a horse to carry a LOAD of humans, we have cars, slingshots, and so many other vehicles for that. It’s unethical within todays technology, and its ABUSE. Please help me with this fight.
