“819 your time is up”. Can you imagine this being the last thing you ever hear? Not even a name. Over 700,000 dogs and cats experience that. A set date that they will never wake up from, their lives stolen from them. Why you may ask, all so that another animal can be brought in and experience the same thing.
   
Everyday in America over 2000 animals are euthanized.  Euthanized is being drugged and killed, put into a fancy word. Most are given a set day that if they are not adopted by they will be put to sleep. That’s like saying to a person if you aren’t married by “certain day” you’re going to be killed. It’s simply not necessary.  Sure they are trying to make space for more animals but why, So they can do the same thing to them?
   
Buildings are created everyday for more people to move into, more restaurants, more daycares, things like that. Why can’t we build more no-kill animal shelters so this doesn’t have to happen. That’s not even the biggest issue, why don’t we make all existing animal shelters, no-kill. Kill shelters should be illegal and they should have been hundreds of years ago.

Some people will argue that there’s not enough money for change but they’re wrong. There’s not money needed to do this, the only thing needed is people and awareness. Not a lot of people know that this is a problem unless they are interested in adopting the animals. Change takes time and the longer we wait the more innocent animals are going to be killed. Please, please, please do everything in your power to share this and make more people aware. It’s normal ordinary people everyday making changes to our world and you can too.
