UN: One Taiwan, One China is the way to go!

UN: One Taiwan, One China is the way to go!
The Issue
The Honorable Ban Ki-moon:
Taiwan is an independent country deserving a seat in the UN.
For the last 20 years in Taiwan, we have been electing our own President and Congress by a democratic process in line with the Charters of the United Nations. On 1/16/2016, the 23 million people of Taiwan elected a native female president, Tsai Ing-Wen, and also gave control of the congress to a native party (the DPP). In this election, the Taiwanese people voted out all but a few pro-China candidates. This was the third peaceful turnover of power, a record the Taiwanese people are proud of.
According to a survey conducted on September 2014 by PTT, the most popular internet forum in Taiwan, 95.61% of the respondents said they are Taiwanese not Chinese, and only 0.53% said the opposite. Taiwan is a nation independent of China and as a nation, we say NO to China in the strongest terms.
Taiwan has been a good citizen of our global village. She has been following the letter and spirit of UN charter and is very generous in brining relieves to nations suffering natural disasters. China, under communist rule, has never governed Taiwan a single day. Yet, under the hegemony of this oppressive nation, the UN calls Taiwan a province of China. Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is that there is One Taiwan and One China. On a personal level, I feel insulted when people call me Chinese.
As an organization devoted to peace, justice, human rights and dignity for the whole world, the UN should have the courage to stand up to China and call Taiwan by her legitimate name, Taiwan, and give her a seat in the General Assembly. Let us welcome Taiwan to this great organization.
