Now back to business.

I would like to adress a paragraf in the answer from the ESC.

“The Eurovision Song Contest is a competition for public service broadcasters from across Europe and the Middle East who are Members of the European Broadcasting Union. It is a competition for broadcasters – not governments – and the Israeli public broadcaster has participated in the Contest for 50 years"

It turns out that, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya and Tunisia. Who all are members of the EBU and the Arab States Broadcasting Union could, in theory, join Eurovision Song Contest, but according to fansite Eurovision World have boycotted due to Israel's involvement. Why you may ask?

First of all because of the conflict in/with Palestine and Palestinians. And, well, it seems as Israel has or has had some kind of conflict of war and/or aggression with many of them. Actually Israel is currently bombing the south of Lebanon during the Genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

So, since the ESC and EBU has decided that Israel is still in the running to compete in Malmoe, Sweden spring 2024. I think it is time to make sure that more EBU members adds to that list of boycott!

How you may ask?

This is where YOU come in. This is not a one man job (woman actually but).

My advice is to send emails to your national broadcaster to adress this! In Sweden it´s SVT, in Italy it´s RAI, Great Britain BBC and so forth.

And here is a template to use for your convenience.

It has come to my attention that the ESC has decided to keep Israel in the competition during Eurovision Song Contest in Malmoe, Sweden spring 2024.

I am very concerned and actually appalled by this decision.

Israel is as we speak committing horrifying acts of crimes against humanity and violations against humanitarian law. By letting them maintain in a competition that used to stand for togetherness, unity and peace is in it self a violation towards all the other countries competing. To have to stand side by side and directly or indirectly appear as supporters of their heinous acts is appalling.

I´m writing you this letter to make sure (name of National broadcaster) really take in consideration to boycott the ESC 2024 due to the fact that Israel is in it. I hope and feel that by doing so we as a country take an important stand against Israels vile acts of crime.

The ESC should not be a place for promoting Israel at the cost of other countries good renommé.

Today the 11th of december has also been appointed as a world strike, non shop day from several sources in Palestine. So if you have the possibility to stay home from work, school, and not spend a dime. Do so to support the cause.
