TWRA and other wildlife organizations need to conduct a survey on the effects of irresponsible fishing practices that cause unnecessary harm to birds waterfowl and fish. So many states do not monitor nests and without a study we would never know just how many eaglets are dying each year for senseless fishing.  Fishing lines that are accidentally brought to a nest when a bird, ex. an eagle takes it to feed its young, can entangle the feet or beak and cause death by starvation. Tangled fishlines prohibit flight and mobility and is an avoidable situation. 
Biodegradable fishlines are available and must be the only option if we have to save our wildlife. 
By taking time to educate the effects of positive fishing equipment use, and providing the tools at a reasonably competitive price we can save our precious wildlife for future generations. Eagles have struggled to make a comeback from the brink of extinction. We owe it to ourselves to save these majestic birds and all the other beauty in nature. 
Immediate action is required to prevent agonizing pain and death caused by irresponsible humans.
