Instagram has recently updated its terms of service to allow the use of user-generated content for training artificial intelligence systems – without giving us the option to protect our content from AI scanning. This means that all your photos, videos, and texts will be used without your explicit consent for the development of their AI technologies.

As content creators, we spend countless hours creating unique content. In the 21st century, our uniqueness and our ability to create new things is what sets us apart from what AI creates.

Therefore, it is time to protect our uniqueness and our intellectual property rights and to demand guarantees that our content will not be used for AI training without our consent.  _________________________________________________________

We, the undersigned Instagram users, demand that Meta revise its terms of service and prevent the unauthorized use of our content for AI development.

Instagram has become a platform where millions of people share their personal and professional moments, creative works, and business initiatives. Users invest their time, effort, and talent in creating unique content. However, the use of this content for training neural networks without the authors' consent violates our rights to uniqueness, intellectual property, and user privacy.

Our Demands:

1. Introduce a feature that allows users to opt-out of having our content used for AI training and other similar purposes. This feature should be available in account settings in any country and be easily accessible.
2. Ensure transparency regarding how and for what purposes user content is used, as well as regular notifications of any changes in data usage policies.
3. Provide adequate protection of user data and privacy, as well as clear information on how user data is protected and used.

We believe that Instagram, as a social platform, is obligated to respect and protect the rights of its users and listen to their needs. Implementing the above measures is a crucial step toward creating fair conditions for using the platform.

By signing this petition, we express our unanimous opinion on the need to protect user rights and urge Meta to immediately consider our demands.

P.S. Recently, Instagram created a form for some countries (which is currently not working) that allowed users to attempt to protect their future content from AI training, but this initiative seems to have failed or is not working for everyone. Additionally, we are interested in a complete ban on the use of all our content, not just newly created content.
