🚨🚨🚨 TIF ALERT: ADDITIONAL EMAIL 🚨🚨🚨

The Village of Northfield has published the official legal notice for the proposed Village Center TIF Redevelopment Plan and Project.
The notice, published in the Daily Herald, announces that a public hearing will be held on:
Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Northfield Village Hall (361 Happ Road)
At that time, the Village Trustees will consider approval of the proposed redevelopment plan, designation of the TIF district, and adoption of tax increment financing. The proposed district encompasses approximately 106 acres in the Village Center.
The notice also explains that residents and affected taxing districts may submit written comments to the Village Clerk or TIF@northfieldil.org.
For those wishing to review the proposal before the hearing, the redevelopment plan is available for public inspection through the Village.
If you have questions, concerns, or comments about the proposed TIF, now is the time to read the documents, stay informed, and participate in the public process.
Village leadership, as of last night’s Caucus meeting, has expressly stated that there is no intention of slowing down the TIF process, or taking the proposed TIF to referendum.
Please, let send your comments to both:
vgroup@northfieldil.org
TIF@northfieldil.org
Thank you for caring about our community.
