Hi I'm a 7th grader in RISD and am opining this petition to anyone who cares about what happens to horses after they win a race or injure themselves or their owners just get tired of them. This is the story of Ferdinand no not the bull but the race horse. This amazing Thoroughbred was born in 1983 and in 1986 won the Kentucky Derby. If you love horses then you know how big a deal that is. He lived a pretty good, long life but definitely deserved to die peacefully. Instead he was shipped off to Japan to be slaughtered. If you know anything about horse slaughter then you know it's been a problem for quite some time.
