Tell the Mayor that Montreal Horses Need to be Retired

On Tuesday July 14 another horse collapsed in Montreal. It's one of the many horse incidents that occur on our streets. But in this case luckily a witness documented it and we were able to make a report.
Following the incident the mayor of Montreal, Denis Coderre, ordered a veterinary check of all the horses.
But we already know that most of the horses in the horse-drawn carriage (caleche) business in Montreal are old and ailing so this decision should only result in a ban.
It is not common sense to have a horse live in a modern city deprived of its basic needs. We also know that these horses undergo abuse daily due to unhealthy living and working conditions, not to mention violent behavior on behalf of the carriage drivers.
We are waiting for the Mayor's response. In the meantime, please help us keep the pressure on by sharing this petition.
