Horse-drawn sled/carriages, Marine mammal parks, circuses, and zoos are widely denounced as cruel, exploitative, and unnecessary by the general public and visitors to the region.

Public opinion in the local, national, and international community is increasingly shifting away from viewing the exploited labour of animals for fleeting and frivolous ‘entertainment’ purposes as acceptable in the 21st Century.

Unfortunately, starting July 19, 2023, Riverview, New Brunswick (Canada) Parks & Rec has begun offering a new summer program with "horse drawn carriage rides". They have also had sleigh rides in past during their winter carnival as well as petting zoo in summer.  It is time to end this unnecessary suffering and exploitation.
