Right Now, Any Trainer Can Harm a Dog – And It’s Completely Legal.
In New Jersey, ANYONE can call themselves a dog trainer—no education, no experience, and no accountability. This means:
🚨 Trainers can use shock collars, prong collars, and physical punishment, even though science proves these methods cause fear, anxiety, and aggression in dogs.
🚨 Families spend thousands of dollars on unqualified trainers who do more harm than good.
🚨 There is NO licensing board to report abusive or fraudulent trainers—leaving dogs unprotected.
We wouldn’t let an unlicensed doctor perform surgery. So why do we allow unqualified trainers to handle dogs?

Senate Bill S3814 will:
✅ Ban inhumane training methods (shock, prong, choke, intimidation).
