It breaks my heart to see practices that cause unnecessary suffering in our society. This process can lead to immense distress and prolonged suffering for the animals involved.

Studies have shown that animals slaughtered without stunning can take significantly longer to lose consciousness, increasing the likelihood of pain and anxiety. According to the British Veterinary Association and the RSPCA, pre-stunning is essential for humane slaughtering, ensuring that animals are insensible to pain, reducing unnecessary agony.

Halal meat is becoming increasingly common in the UK, with many retailers selling these products without clear labeling, leaving consumers unaware. This lack of transparency prevents conscientious consumers from making informed choices, indirectly supporting practices they might fundamentally oppose.

It's time to adopt a more humane approach to animal welfare in the UK. By banning halal slaughter methods that do not involve pre-stunning, we show our commitment to compassion and ethical treatment of animals.
