The Issue

I am Jewish and feel very unsettled now in the UK after witnessing the events that unfolded at this year's Glastonbury music festival. What should have been a celebration of music and diversity became a platform for blatant anti-Semitic behaviour, with chants explicitly calling for violence against the IDF. Such expressions of hate have no place in our society and should never be tolerated at a public event like Glastonbury.

Glastonbury has long held a reputation as a welcoming and inclusive festival, attracting visitors from all over the world, regardless of race, religion, or background. However, this year's shocking display of anti-Semitism has tarnished that image, alienating and threatening the safety of many Jewish attendees and others who value tolerance and peace. The festival organizers must be held accountable for allowing such hate speech to take place.

Our demand is clear: Glastonbury should be banned from holding any future music festivals until they can guarantee an environment free of hate speech and discrimination. Measures should be implemented to ensure that any group or individual promoting violence or hatred is removed from the festival immediately. Additionally, the organizers must publicly apologize to the Jewish community and take steps to prevent a repeat of such occurrences.

By holding Glastonbury accountable, we send a message that bigotry and violence cannot and will not be tolerated in any public space. The safety and dignity of all attendees must be prioritized, and we urge the relevant authorities to take immediate action against the festival until these issues are adequately addressed.

Please sign this petition to demand that Glastonbury uphold the values of inclusivity and respect that so many of its supporters hold dear, ensuring a safe space for everyone, free from fear and discrimination.
