Ban Gender Grooming in PreK-12 Schools

The Issue

It was recently publicized how for months starting in the 2021-22 school year, a 5th grade teacher at a Long Island, New  York Elementary School was referring to a 9-year-old girl as “Leo and using opposite gender pronouns” without her parents knowledge or consent. As a direct result of this activist teacher imposing a male gender identity upon this young girl against her will, she suffered “humiliation,” “anxiety,” “emotional pain,” “trauma,” and required psychological treatment. Sadly, it took the girl becoming suicidal, writing “I wanna kill myself,” for the principal to alert her parents and shed light on the teacher’s subversive indoctrination.

A similar incident happened in California where in 2021 a mother complained about how a teacher coached her 12-year-old daughter to be “trans-fluid”, addressing her with male pronouns and a new name, without her mother’s knowledge or consent. In that case it was revealed how teachers “subvert parents when it comes to students' gender identity and sexual orientation,” even hiding children’s participation in the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) club from them.

Recently publicized videos show teachers and administrators discussing their covert LGBTQ+ indoctrination plans with children in various districts across Long Island.

A June 2022 UCLA School of Law study documented how from 2014 to 2020 the number of youth identifying as transgender has nearly doubled, and youth ages 13 to 17 were more than four times more likely to identify as transgender than adults ages 65 or older. A Centers for Disease Control & Prevention report similarly found “the number of young people identifying as transgender in the US has almost doubled since 2017.”

While schools are pushing children toward gender transitions with policies of social affirmation without parents knowledge or consent,  a variety of studies suggest that as many as 80% of gender dysphoric children could ultimately experience “desistance”— or come to terms with their biological gender. A growing number of teenage females have expressed regret about their gender conversion and are stuck dealing with “irreversible medical consequences”.

LGBT Activists and Suicide Prevention Groups have long advocated for banning conversion therapy for minors. They refer to it as the “widely discredited practice aimed at changing a person's sexual orientation or gender identity.” Because of their efforts, at least 20 states passed laws banning mental health professionals from practicing such therapy.

In light of what has been discovered in America’s schools where 9-year-old girls are becoming suicidal because of covert gender grooming, a similar law needs to be passed regarding education professionals. Considering that the US government will not issue a passport to children younger than 18 without the written consent of both parents, neither should education institutions be able to influence changes to such children’s sex/gender without knowledge and consent of both parents.

Therefore, we the parents demand that our elected officials pass legislation making it illegal for any teacher, employee, or contracted person in an educational facility to discuss gender transitioning or address our children as anything other than their biological sex and given name, without the expressed written consent of their mother and father, or whomever their legal guardians may be.
