Good day everyone, and thank you to the new signers since the last update.
The petition system automatically sent an email to the council/rangers, when we reached 100 signs.
The very friendly ranger I chatted to was extremely concerned about the occurrence of the issue.
He told me they are taking this serious, but cannot remove the anglers from the beach, but, they will be increasing their dog beach patrols, with the goal to speak to, and educate, the parties involved about the problem, and get them to stop doing this.
They will also get the council to push out some more information about the matter via social media, as well as potentially making contact with angling bloggers/vlogers to also push out the message: Stop throwing puffer fish on the beach.
As noted, more than happy to share the space with them, if they can be more considerate, however, the petition will continue, as I am still of opinion that the best outcome will be to ban dog beach fishing.
At least, already, the issue is getting more attention!
Once a gain, a friendly reminder that if you find a puffer fish, please bag it and bin it. You just helped save another dog by that simple action. Lets treat it like the poo!
Please continue to share the petition, and lets see how far we can get this notion to go.
Have a great evening.
