Ban fishing from all Rockingham WA dog beaches to prevent death and injury to dogs.

Ban fishing from all Rockingham WA dog beaches to prevent death and injury to dogs.
The issue
Dog beaches are set aside for that purpose: dogs.
However, of late, more and more beach fishing is happening on these beaches, and the fishermen are discarding unwanted puffer fish on the sand. (including bait, discarded fishing lines, fish hooks, and generally leave a mess, not cleaning up, not securing their fishing gear/items with dogs running about on the DOG BEACH!)
My own dog, Katie, nearly died on the 7th Jan 2023, after eating a puffer fish on the beach. I got her to the vet in time to be saved.
One puffer fish can kill 30 adult humans! let that sink in.
We would be happy to have shared the beaches, but unfortunately the fishing parties don't seem to care about their actions, and I have been verbally abused when asking them to stop this puffer fish discarding.
The only safe way forward is to ban fishing on dog beaches, with a fine paid if ignored.
Note:
* Please only sign this petition if you live in the Rockingham Western Australia area, else your sign will not count. The council will only be interested in their constituents.
* This petition is not about saving the fish. That is a different matter. The scope of this petition is to save dogs, by banning dog beach fishing. Banning dog beach fishing is an attainable goal, that the council can do. Educating the fishing community is an entirely different kettle of fish (no pun intended)
If you are wanting to save the fish, by educating the fishing community, feel free to take on that challenge.
