Just because a person is on a low income, and or on benefit/ s  that should not EXCLUDE them from owning a pet. Vet fees have become increasingly unaffordable for many many people. Vet services should be forced to put their prices down so thier services are MORE or completely accessible for ALL pet owners; irrespective of thier financial situation. Initial consultation fees , alone, are generally around £50.  £50 for a person on Universal Credit, for example is a huge amount of extra money to find. This charge is before any treatment, medication and or proceedures. Increasingly many pet owners who  in some case have owned thier pet for many years are forced to give up thier pet because of extortionate vet fees no longer affordable. Or it maybe the first visit , due to a sudden accident,then faced with a  huge bill that they literally cannot pay..What then? Will the Vets still care/ treat thier pet? Maybe.. Probably not..They could operate to save the animals life or if this is unaffordable, which it will almost definitely be for someone on a lower income, then maybe the owner will be forced to pay a lower amount to have thier pet put down! This situation happens frequently. It is MORALLY wrong.  Financial situations can change ; many pet owners probably could afford thier pets costs for many years; maybe,? But then thier income change's and they can no longer afford vet expense. What then? We need a system in this country, a legal system that says thorough thier actions..," Your pet WILL be treated& cared for irrespective of your financial situation ".

 A pet becomes a valued and loved family member  deserve health care as much as any living being. Surely it can no longer be tolerated that those pets whose owners CAN afford thier treatment receive said treatment?! It's morally wrong, I propose, that a vet practice will only treatment an animal whose owner can pay ,there and then.  ,Many vets, if not all won't defer collecting payment at a slightly later date , when the owner can / will or raise the money to pay . Pet owners have to pay immediately after treatment or before, otherwise thier animal won't be treated. That is wrong. Vets should be made by legal means to provide more affordable ways/ options for their poorer pet owners to cover thier PLEASE share this petition as much as you are able... Thankyou..
