Ban electric, choke and prong collars for dogs in England.

The Issue

In 2018, the government announced that it would ban the use of electric shock collars, or e-collars for dog training. However, as it stands today, no such ban has been put in place and so-called dog "trainers" continue to advertise and use them.

The Kennel Club has opposed the use of such devices, stating that research has highlighted "that usage of the device poses a risk to dog welfare and causes unnecessary suffering, as well as indicating that there is little evidence of improved behavioural outcomes".

In January of this year, the French Assembly voted to ban e-collars, as well as choke and prong collars as they cause psychological and physical harm to animals. Let's ask the government to make good on their 2018 promise and follow the French and other European countries' example and legislate against such barbaric and inhumane "methods" of training.
