The Issue
Have you ever had a camera pushed in your face or someone stood in front of you filming without your consent or knowledge (known as covert deception!) and then finding that the footage has been unloaded onto YouTube or Tik Tok for others to critique and comment on? , believe it or not it is considered lawful (except in a private setting!) In the UK but it's also immoral and unfair and to be honest quite weird until you realise why it's happening ! , its all for content and reward , basically untalented and often unemployed individuals of whom have nothing better to do with their time than to go around annoying other people particularly in their place of work are getting paid for this content by the social media platforms.
One of the worst offenders is DJE Media run by a prolific criminal and compulsive liar with a SHPO order against him of whom has had to change his name to Dan so as not to be identified!
The blame solely lies on Social media's shoulders ie YouTube Tik Tok Facebook for rewarding and encouraging this kind of behaviour yet it takes a certain kind of selfish person to become quite frankly a public nuisance like this !
Drone flying is a new tactic adopted by these idiotic and selfish individuals the action of flying a drone over private property and filming everything with their little toys (weighing under 250g) is not only a potential threat to the security of both the land and building it is also an invasion of people's privacy and if the drone is flown too low can also be a case of civil trespass!
Does GDPR apply to Social Media auditors?
Yes if the video footage taken by an “auditor” identifies a specific individual (i.e. is not blurred), then the video potentially falls within the scope of personal data. Under UK GDPR a person who uploads video content online which includes personal data may be considered a data controller and liable to prosecution !
