Ban DJ trucks on Delhi roads

I vividly remember the night when my young children were startled awake by the blaring sounds of a DJ truck passing through our neighborhood in Delhi. The sheer volume felt like it was penetrating the walls of our home, everything felt shivering, then I realized just how disruptive these vehicles can be. Not only did it cause distress to my family, but it's a routine ordeal faced during festivals by countless residents across our city. That's why I'm calling for a complete ban on DJ trucks on Delhi roads.
DJ trucks, often hired for festive celebrations, create noise levels that far exceed acceptable limits. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the permissible noise level in residential areas during the night should not exceed 45 decibels, yet these vehicles often emit sound levels over 100 decibels. This violation of noise pollution norms is not only a nuisance but poses serious health risks, including sleepless nights, anxiety, cardiovascular issues, and tinnitus.
Delhi's urban population is particularly vulnerable. Our elderly, infants, students, and even pets are subjected to undue stress due to these high noise levels. In a survey conducted by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, 85% of Delhiites expressed concern over noise pollution, with a significant portion attributing it to DJ trucks.
This nuisance is wholly unnecessary as festivities can continue without invading public spaces and residents' peace. Various cities around the world have successfully banned or regulated loud music vehicles in residential areas, setting a precedent for us to follow.
By prohibiting DJ trucks, we can significantly improve the quality of life in Delhi. The government should enforce strict regulations, ensure that violators face penalties, and encourage residents to report offenses.
