People of Epping Forest borough, I need your help - TODAY!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

A massive thank you to each and every one of you for signing this important petition. I want to unite everyone in the Borough of Epping Forest as the decisions for all THREE data centres impact ALL of us and our magnificent Forest. Pollution does not recognise post codes and will travel and envelope the whole area. The irreparable damage to the Forest would break all of our hearts, it is already at tipping point. The ONLY way to stop this is People Power and in NUMBERS. Our future is not something that 'happens' to us. In a 'democracy', we should ALL be the architects of OUR future.

So today is the day! I am calling on my fellow conservators of the woods to copy, paste and send the below email to : appcomment@eppingforestdc.gov.uk;

You need to quote this in the subject field -  'OBJECTION EPF/1785/26 - Contaminated Land'

At the top of the email state YOUR NAME, ADDRESS AND POSTCODE (you have to prove you live in the borough of Epping Forest). Then copy below:

Planning Application EPF/1785/26

I object to planning application EPF/1785/26.

Condition 4 cannot be discharged as contaminated water and potential radioactivity from the proposal have the potential to cause life threatening, irreversible material harm to the land, air and water surrounding the site, in turn effecting all local residents, children, shoppers, workers and all nature, including the Roding River.

FOI requests have proven that neither Thames water or EFDC know how many millions of litres it will take to fill the closed loop cooling system of the data centre. This is relevant as before being fully operational, the system is filled and then flushed out. The water being flushed out is full of potential forever chemicals, pfa’s/ metals and other toxic contaminants harmful to human health and the natural environment. FOI requests have proven that neither Thames water or EFDC know where that water is being flushed to. We have requested same information from the CEO’s of both Nscale and Future Tech. Neither have responded. Until there is transparent information detailing where/ how this toxic water will be disposed of, condition 4 cannot be discharged.

As Nscale have been advised by UKPN that they will not have access to The Grid until the mid 2030’s, there is a question about how the site will be powered. Nscale acquired Future Tech in December 2025. Future Tech partnered with Deep Atomic in June 2025 to develop Small Modular Reactors, SMR’s, nuclear power. We have asked the CEO of Future Tech if they will be using SMR’s at the Langston Road site. We have not had a response. According to Doctor Ian Fairlie, an independent consultant on radioactivity in the environment, 'cooling water passing through the nuclear reactor experiences a conversion of some of the hydrogen in its H2O into tritium, a radioactive isotope of hydrogen. This modified water evaporates off into the atmosphere, falls as rain on the environment, is readily absorbed by plants including human and animal fodder, and is also delivered via the kitchen tap. The tritium migrates within the human body to the bones and the liver, where it continues to emit its carcinogenic radiation (beta rays). Dangerous for some twelve years.' Until we receive transparent information regarding the type of power to be used at the Langston Road site, condition 4 cannot be discharged.

Regards
