Hello Fellow Conservators of Epping Forest.

On 14th October between 4 - 8pm at Roding Valley Cricket club, Bradwell  Road, Buckhurst Hill, IG9 6BY, developers P3P are holding a public consultation regarding the proposed Data Centre Campus on land off Roding Lane.

They state there will be 2 data centre buildings but the 'design is still being developed'. They will cover an area of 7.5 football pitches, but there are no details of size or scale. It will be powered by fuel cells until they can get onto The Grid. They have not stated whether the fuel will be natural gas, hydrogen, ammonia and methanol. Whatever they are powered by they will produce an enormous amount of waste heat. Heat Pollution.

Developers state 'almost no' NOX / particulates will be produced, but how much is 'almost none'? Potential Air Pollution

They state 'cooling equipment' will be on the roof, but do not specify what sort or how many chillers there will be. Noise Pollution.

They mention 'closed loop cooling system' but do not confirm whether this will be used. Potential water pollution.

With Data centres planned for North Weald and Loughton, the fragile eco system of Epping Forest is already at tipping point. Come and make your voices heard, have your questions answered and let these developers know, no one wants these data centres on green belt land so close to ancient forest. This is madness...
