Hot off the press, we have heard they are thinking of planning another data centre on Roding Lane, Buckhurst Hill/ Chigwell! Opposite David Lloyd apparently. Obviously 2 is not enough around our beautiful forest.
Regarding the Loughton site, we know from Freedom Of Information requests to the council that neither they nor Thames water know where the contaminated water from the first 'fill and flush' of the closed loop system will go. The site is right next door to the river Roding.

They also do not know how many millions of litres of water it is going to take to fill the closed loop. The local area has been subject to burst pipes and no water all Summer... Get involved! A far scary angle has come to light. Nscale bought a company called Future Tech in December 2025 to build the Loughton AI Hyperscale data centre. The Guardian UK reported this week that the site will not be connected to National Electric Grid until 2030's due to completely unrealistic demand ( like enough power for 315,000 homes). Future tech have partnered with Deep Atomic in June 2025 to 'strategically ACCELERATE the development of NUCLEAR powered data centres'. THIS SHOULD ALARM EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE! Because the UK only produces HALF the projected demand for electricity for data centre use, this could now be seen as a speedier alternative. Just when we thought it cannot get any worse.
