Ban Dangerous 7-OH Drug Sales at Gas Stations And Near Schools

Ban Dangerous 7-OH Drug Sales at Gas Stations And Near Schools
The Issue
Gas stations and convenience stores across the U.S. are selling colorful, candy-flavored products laced with 7-OH, a synthetic chemical with opioid-like effects—and no FDA approval.
Now, the FDA is urging the DEA to classify 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) as a Schedule I substance, warning that it’s been linked to overdoses, seizures, liver damage, and even death.
Even worse? These unregulated products are often sold just steps away from schools, military bases, and youth centers.
We’re calling on Congress and state legislatures to pass emergency laws that ban the sale of 7-OH and similar synthetic drugs within 1,000 feet of any K–12 school, college, military base, or youth-serving facility - and gas stations.
- Enforce clear labeling and age restrictions for all 7-OH or kratom-related products
- Crack down on misleading marketing that targets teens and young adults
No family should have to worry about dangerous, opioid-like chemicals being sold next to snacks at the corner store.
Tell lawmakers: Protect our kids, soldiers, and communities. Ban the sale of 7-OH near schools and military sites—before more lives are lost.
