Title: Ban Conventional Pig Farming in Denmark – Transition to Plant-Based and Organic Agriculture
Description:
Every year, more than 40 million pigs in Denmark endure lives of suffering in conventional pig farming systems. Confined in barren environments, subjected to painful procedures like tail docking, and denied the opportunity to express natural behaviors, these intelligent and sensitive animals face daily cruelty.
This industrialized farming model leads to devastating outcomes:
• 9 million piglets die annually due to poor living conditions and inadequate care.
• 150,000 sows die every year as a result of extreme exploitation and overbreeding.
The harm caused by this system extends beyond the animals. It contributes to climate change, deforestation, and water pollution, while failing to support a sustainable future.
It’s time to end this outdated and cruel system and transition to a future rooted in compassion, sustainability, and innovation.
By banning conventional pig farming, Denmark can:
• Stop the inhumane treatment of pigs.
• Lead the world in promoting plant-based and organic agriculture.
• Support a sustainable food system that benefits animals, humans, and the planet.
We urge the Danish government to take immediate action:
• Ban the use of farrowing crates.
• Phase out industrial pig farming in favor of plant-based and organic farming.
• Impose stricter penalties: violations of the Animal Welfare Act should result in up to three years of imprisonment.
• Ban individuals convicted of animal abuse (fined three times or more, or sentenced to prison) from working with animals professionally.
Join us in demanding a more humane and sustainable future. Let Denmark lead the way in creating a global shift towards ethical agriculture.
Sign now to help end the suffering of pigs and build a better future for all!
