PLEASE SUPPORT THIS PETITION TO BAN CELL PHONE USE IN KENTUCKY SCHOOLS DURING INSTRUCTION TIMES. 

I am La Glenda Reed a public school teacher that supports banning the use of cell phones during instruction times in public schools because it is a major distraction in the classroom that has a large impact on students' learning, concentration, and test scores. 

By signing this Petition you are agreeing to ask our Kentucky Governor to sign House Bill 383 [to end the use of cell phones during instruction times] this important Petition an Executive Order that is desperately needed to improve the success of our Education system, promote positive student teacher engagement in the classroom, help to retain teachers and improve our graduating test scores for all grades K-12 for all students and all students that currently attend  low performing schools.   

Research shows that students who are distracted by cell phones perform worse academically (source: Journal of Educational Psychology). By eliminating this distraction, we can create a more focused and effective learning environment for our children. Please sign this petition to help improve education in Kentucky schools!
