I got hit by a car that decided to overtake me whilst I was overtaking a car parked in a cycle lane. The driver drove off. I have head and body injuries as a result and cannot work at the moment until I recover. I had to have a CT scan after going to hospital by ambulance and visit a doctor and nurse. This would never have happened had the car and many other cars parked on the bike lane on the busy road. It is dangerous and selfish. I am a car driver and understand not to try to squeeze and overtake a cyclist overtaking a car parked on the cycle lane and I understand you don't park on the bike lanes. I follow the law by not cycling on the pavement. There should be fines enforced on the cars parked on the bike lanes and higher penalties if a cyclist gets injured or killed. They are endangering lives. Why don't they follow the law? This must become law to protect cyclists.
