Lucy and I attended the Camden Council Scrutiny committee meeting on 14 July at which the committee considered our request to permanently ban barbecues; the outcome was that Camden decided to continue the current situation [temporary BBQ ban] and reconsider after they have received a report from the Waterlow Park Trust Advisory Group Barbecue Working Group - it is anticipated that this report will be presented to council late September.

On 1st August Lucy and I had an online meeting with Oliver Jones, Head of Green Spaces for Camden, and asked him to consider the issue of barbecues in Waterlow Park in the context of Charity Governance as set down by the Charity Commission [Waterlow Park is a charity]. We believe that if decisions regarding Waterlow park are made within the Charity context, this would not allow barbecues. Oliver Jones agreed to consider this and on 2nd September advised he was working on a response.
