Plastic and Mylar balloons are hazardous to wildlife and farm animals.  They are litter. When accidentally or deliberately released they frequently end up tangled in trees, lying in pastures, or in bodies of water. We ask that Chatham County recognize the negative impact that balloons have on our environment and ban the sale and release of balloons in our county.
