Ban balloon trash on Stuart Beach - save the turtles!

Ban balloon trash on Stuart Beach - save the turtles!
The Issue
Implementing a ban on balloons at Stuart Beach in Florida is crucial for protecting our marine life! By signing this petition, you can help save marine creatures from harmful debris. Other local beaches have already adopted this restriction, so it's time for Stuart Beach to follow suit! We urge individuals over 18 who are eligible to vote to add their support, but remember: every signature counts!
How does balloon trash affect animals and Stuart?
1) Out of all the balloons we released into the air, 65-70% of them land in the ocean, killing hundreds of animals yearly
2) The management of our beaches costs about $11,000 per km
3) The longer the debris is at sea, the greater the risk of a marine creature mistakenly ingesting the plastic
4) According to the data from one beach clean-up, 2,460 fragments from balloons were found in The Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area
5) When ribbons or strings are connected to the balloons, wildlife can mistake it for food or become entangled in it
You should sign this petition to protect wildlife and keep the environment clean. Balloons are a big problem for marine life, and seeing how they harm animals and pollute beaches might inspire you to take action. If you love spending time at the beach or want future generations to enjoy it as much as you do, banning balloons could be a step toward preserving that. Standing up for an issue like this can unite people who share our values and make a real difference in your community.
