"BAN ANTI-HOMELESS ARCHITECTURE"

"BAN ANTI-HOMELESS ARCHITECTURE"
The Issue
Good Day! We are 3 Grade 11 Students from our ICT Class and are making this petition for the purpose of research to find things that are worth fighting for! And the topic we chose was the use of anti-homeless architecture, also referred to as hostile architecture, it is a type of architectural design used to deter or prevent crime and support the preservation of order. To prevent bad people from utilizing public areas for purposes other than those for which they were intended, the built environment plays a role in the strategy. It comes from using architecture to address potential social problems or to discourage individuals from using a particular area of a town or city. The majority of examples are tangible objects; one less aggressive example would be bollards that prevent autos from entering pedestrian areas! So the question is....
"Do you AGREE or DISAGREE?"
Unfortunately, it is becoming usual for young teenagers to leave home and move somewhere other than home! Thus, homelessness is a viable alternative for living in our planet! Although the ANTI-HOMELESSNESS ARCHITECTURE is a technique to get rid of individuals in crucial public spaces it is also critical to comprehend their predicament! Although adding it has advantages and disadvantages, there is a greater picture here! Let's find those out, shall we?
First, We should define what is Anti-Homelessness Architecture it is defined as a form of architectural design intended to prevent or impede crime and help maintain order. ( According To Google. )
These are good examples of what ANTI-HOMELESSNESS ARCHITECTURE is!
A handle in the middle of the bench to avoid sleepers!
Spikes in front of a door way to avoid people sitting and staying!
We have made bullets on the pros and cons of this type of Architecture!
Pros
- Crime Prevention
- Public Health and Safety
- Balancing Conflict Interest
- Limiting Property Damage
- Encouraging Responsible Use of Public Space
Cons
- Homeless people are more vulnerable to danger
- It is a waste of money, the money spent for the making should be invested more on housing for the homeless
- Without proper space, it is uncomfortable to live in such an public area
- It is exclusionary and dehumanizing
- It is widely expensive to produce
Our group, personally believes that we are to care for our people in our world although we are not blood related or social towards any of the people we see it is not right to be able to reconstruct on what we call "public spaces" but its not free for the "public" in this case the homeless people! Anti-homelessness architecture should be strongly opposed since it not only exacerbates the misery of our most vulnerable citizens, but it also reinforces the structural issues that led to homelessness in the first place. Such designs are usually characterized by unfavourable features, the spikes, benches with separations and other outlying elements which dehumanize them to a large extent.
Our focus should be on solutions that offer support, empathy, and opportunities for individuals to rebuild and reshape their lives, rather than resorting to inhumane designs that only deepen the divide between the things they have and don't.
So that's why we think we should BAN ANTI-HOMELESS ARCHTICTURE!
But how about you? Do you Agree or do Disagree on our statements?
