Ban Animal Testing In the U.S

Ban Animal Testing In the U.S
The Issue
Animal testing is an issue because it is cruel and painful for animals. More than 110 million animals die from tests for food, drugs, and cosmetic tests. Although it is thought that animal testing helps create safer products, animal testing often does not help research and there are many alternatives using extracted cells and alternative methods. Also, these animals are almost always not protected by US law. Animal testing started in the twelfth century in moorish Spain for testing surgical procedures before using them on humans. The USDA (or animal welfare act) started becoming an idea when Pepper, a family dog, was stolen in June 1965 and was sold to a research facility in NYC to be eventually tested on. Pepper was cut open and inhumane experiments were performed on her. Help us ban animal testing in the U.S and save such animals from harm.
