I speak as a loving owner of dogs, cats, and a bunny. Each day, I imagine the unimaginable fear and pain endured by other animals in laboratories under the guise of scientific advancement. Every year, millions of animals are used in experiments worldwide. These involuntary test subjects include but are not limited to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, dogs, and cats, much like my own cherished pets. It is a haunting, daily reality for these creatures, and therefore, it has become a personal mission to seek a global ban on animal testing.

It's time we shifted our ethical focus and considerations towards an age where technology makes animal testing unnecessary. Alternatives exist, with the progression of in vitro methods, computer modelling, and volunteer human testing for cosmetic and non-life threatening studies. It is wrong to justify animal suffering when alternatives exist.

Humans creating products must be accountable and responsible. If something needs testing, it should first be trialed by the individuals behind its creation. This approach would not only eliminate the unnecessary pain inflicted on animals but also ensure that the products developed are safer for human use from the start.
