Ban animal testing and promote ethical science

The Issue

As an animal lover, it breaks my heart to witness the cruelty that many animals endure in the name of scientific advancement. Yet, despite the suffering imposed on these creatures, the reliability of animal testing remains alarmingly low. We must confront this harsh reality and work together to foster a new age of ethical science.

Animal testing often leads to significant distress and pain for millions of animals each year. Species such as mice, rabbits, and monkeys are subjected to gruesome procedures that leave them traumatized, mutilated, or dead in laboratories worldwide. Even with such sacrifices, animal tests are not a gold standard. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), approximately 95% of drugs that pass animal tests fail in human trials. This inefficiency represents countless lives lost in vain and billions of dollars wasted annually.

The unreliability of animal testing highlights an urgent need for change. Innovative breakthroughs like organ-on-chip technology, 3D tissue models, and advanced computational methods have already begun to revolutionize the research field, offering alternatives that are more humane and scientifically sound. Embracing these technologies not only spares animals from suffering but also provides researchers with more accurate and relevant results, thereby benefiting human health.

Transitioning from animal testing will not be instantaneous, and it requires collective efforts from governments, research institutions, and stakeholders. We must advocate for increased funding and legislative support for alternative methods that spare animal lives and deliver more dependable outcomes.

Together, we can end the unnecessary suffering of animals and usher in a new era of ethical science. I urge you to join me in calling for a ban on animal testing and the promotion of non-animal research methods. Please sign this petition to demand change for a more humane and effective scientific future.

I implore those in power to legislate and promote a cruelty free pathway for science and educate people on the horrible reality of what their cosmetics or treatments have done to cause further suffering for animals.

I promote the usage of cruelty free cosmetics and treatments and hope more companies follow though with taking other pathways for testing in the future.

Your voice matters. Sign this petition to support the ban of animal testing and the unnecessary fear and distress and suffering that goes hand in hand with it. Every signature brings us closer to a cruelty free future.
