Ban animal testing!

Ban animal testing!
The Issue
The Animal Welfare Act or AWA for short, is the law that allows too many animals to die every year due to animal testing. Animal testing is when scientists take innocent animals and test dangerous chemicals on them for medicine, research, teaching, and even cosmetics. Plus, these tests aren’t even good for humans, for 3 reasons.
First of all, it is completely unethical that without a choice animals are used carelessly for tests and then get killed when the scientists have finished using them. 110 million animals die every year from animal tests. It isn’t even fair for the ones who make it out alive because their life expectancy is considerably lowered after they get out of the lab. Unfortunately, the ones who don’t make it out alive get tortured before they die. Sometimes they drill holes into their skulls while they are awake, their skins get burned off, get their spines crushed, and they are trapped in boxes that are filled with carbon dioxide until there is so much that they pass out and die.
Secondly, there is the accuracy factor. While animals do share 90% of their DNA with us, that 10% makes a life and death difference. Things that are toxic for animals can be perfectly fine for humans and things that are perfectly fine for animals can be toxic for humans. An example for this is that scientists have cured cancer on mice countless times but almost never on a human.
Lastly, this is unideal for humans as well. To pay for animal testing they have to buy the animals and buy the ingredients to test on them. That money goes out of the pockets of everyday American citizens, so if you want to save money; ban animal testing!!!
The people that this law is currently impacting and will be impacting are more than 115 million innocent animals and countless scientists. This is impacting the animals because they will be freed of their torture, pain, and death. It will be impacting the scientists because they will no longer be forced to test dangerous chemicals on cute animals.
This horrible law that allowed this to happen was created on August 24 1966.
This is currently a federal law and I would like it to continue being one after it is changed.
This law is unjust because the animals do not get a say on whether they are going to be tested on. There was a beagle who was born into testing, she was still being tested on at only a year old. They were spraying dangerous chemicals on her just to show students what would happen to her. This law is also unjust because sometimes the scientists performing the tests sometimes don’t have a choice and they could lose their jobs if they don’t do it.
In America there should now be a federal law that bans people from using animals to test chemicals and other products.
