Animal kill shelters are a major issue throughout the globe. These are shelters that euthanize our beloved pets because there isn't enough for all of the animals people bring in. It is also because of the money too, most kill shelters don't get funded enough to feed and provide for all of the pets in that area. There might also not be enough people that will adopt rescues in enough time to save these thousands of animals each year. Animal kill shelters should be banned forever and instead we should work on helping these animals and changing their lives forever. 

        Kill shelters need to be ended and never come back. In 2020, 5100 animals were put down which set a new low record according to the Sacramento Bee. During the pandemic, most people wanted to buy a puppy, but little did they know that it would take hard work and dedication. So they gave them away to shelters and some got adopted and put into good homes while others were euthanized and never able to experience life. This is why before buying an animal you should do your research, be prepared for the unexpected, and expect a lot of work. Even though they take a lot of work, these animals can change your lives for the better and people do not have the right to just kill these poor animals. But even though these kill shelters provide a terrible ending for some, there are ways we can still help.The biggest way to help these poor animals is to adopt them. As much as 50% of dog owners buy from breeders and 25% of those dogs end up in shelters. So instead of buying from breeders,  adopt a shelter dog and help them have a healthy happy life. A smaller way to help is to contribute money, food, or even beds and toys for the animals. This way the shelters save money on the basics and can use the extra money for other necessary things. Any way that you can think of will help contribute to the shelter's needs and if this petition gets enough signatures then we can help end kill shelters. 

         Banning kill shelters throughout the globe would just be a start to a better world. We need to forget the horrible ways of the kill shelters and work on making a major difference in the animals lives. Helping these innocent animals will make a huge difference in their life and yours. So make sure that you adopt and/or foster as much as you can and don't buy from breeders.
