Ban Animal Abuse Videos on TikTok

The Issue

I am deeply disturbed by a video I recently came across on TikTok, where a baby goat was left to be eaten alive by a komodo dragon. The person filming the incident found amusement in this horrific act of animal cruelty, which is utterly unacceptable. Despite reporting the video to TikTok, it was not taken down. This experience has been personal and distressing for me as an advocate for innocent animals like this baby goat who are subjected to such abuse.

Animal cruelty is not entertainment and should never be treated as such. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), over 1 million animals are abused or killed each year in connection with domestic violence (ASPCA). This statistic does not even account for instances of animal abuse that go unreported or unnoticed, like those hidden behind the guise of 'content' on social media platforms.

TikTok must take responsibility and implement stricter guidelines against animal abuse content. By allowing these videos on their platform, they indirectly contribute towards normalizing such behavior and financially benefiting abusers through views and shares.

We call upon TikTok to ban all forms of content that depict or promote animal cruelty from their platform immediately. It's time we prioritize empathy over entertainment; it's time we speak up for those who can't speak for themselves.

Please sign this petition if you stand against animal abuse and believe in creating safer online spaces free from harm.
