The Issue

Rodeo events may be a part of American culture, but it's time to rethink their place in modern entertainment. The TD Garden Entertainment Center in Boston, MA, hosts various events every year, yet it's crucial to ensure that these events align with our values of compassion and respect for all living beings. Rodeos often involve practices that can be harmful and stressful for animals, and we must speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Investigations and numerous reports have shown that animals used in rodeos are often subjected to undue stress, fear, and physical harm. The use of ropes, straps, or electric prods to make animals perform risks their well-being and raises ethical concerns. Cattle, horses, and bulls endure an environment contrary to their natural living conditions, resulting in a lifestyle riddled with distress and potential injury.

According to the ASPCA, many animals suffer severe injuries due to the demanding nature of rodeo events. Bulls, in particular, have been found to experience back and limb fractures due to the intense physical demands placed on them during performances. Furthermore, the World Animal Protection Organization has identified significant welfare concerns across many rodeos, highlighting the urgency for a shift away from such traditions.

As a society that values kindness and ethical treatment of all creatures, we need to take a stand against the animal cruelty inherent in rodeo activities. The world is moving towards more humane entertainment options that don't rely on exploiting animals. We can set a precedent by banning rodeo events at a major venue such as TD Garden, leading the way in promoting entertainment that aligns with our core values.

We request TD Garden Entertainment Center's management to ban all rodeo events from being held at their venue. By doing so, we promote a culture of compassion and responsibility. It’s time to make ethical choices for the animals and ourselves.

Please sign this petition to support the ban on rodeo events at TD Garden Entertainment Center, and help us move towards a more humane society.
