2023 witnessed the highest levels of raw sewage discharged ever recorded in England and Wales, with levels doubling to 3.6 million hours over the year.

And what’s worse? Parliament is allowing it to continue.

In fact:

• They voted to reject an amendment to the environment bill to make water companies reduce raw sewage dumps.
• And in another vote, 300 MPs voted to permit raw sewage dumps in UK’s rivers & coastlines for at least the next 15 years.

As long as these companies keep profiting from discharging raw sewage into our rivers, lakes, and seas, they will keep doing it.

And the longer they do it, the greater the harm to the planet, wildlife, and us.

In fact, 75% of UK rivers now pose a risk to human health.

In an election year when MPs need us – let’s demand something in return. Let’s demand they put concrete targets in place to stop raw sewage dumps for good.
