With over 150 signatures and multiple creators now speaking out publicly and privately about their concerns over AI content on TikTok shop, the issue is becoming even more apparent.

In troubling news we came across this video this morning https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNRU9BD3p/ 

The creator is actively encouraging people to download people’s content and use AI to make it their own and post it with product links. Not only does this take away the hard work of the original creator but it again means the physical product has not been tried or tested by the creator and they are simply trying to make sales. It’s lazy, it’s copyright infringement and it’s just morally wrong.

This is nothing new, there are even agencies working with TikTok shop who actively encourage their affiliates to use AI and teach them how to do it. While it’s a good thing that everyone has the opportunity to make money from TikTok shop it’s not a good thing if it’s done in a way that goes against the rules of the platform, ie not accurately showing the physical product in the video.

Thankfully this is not all agencies and the petition has been signed by creator managers from some of the platform’s biggest agencies. They are equally as disgusted as creators on how AI is being used
for TikTok shop videos. What’s apparent to them is the effect it’s having on the creators they manage who have seen a dramatic reduction in views and sales because of the sheer amount of AI videos now flooding the platform.
