The Issue

Living in our county has always felt like a privilege - a beautiful place where community thrives and resources are shared among residents in ways that support our homes, businesses, and daily life. However, recent developments have jeopardized this balance with the influx of AI data centers that bring more harm than good to our region.

AI data centers consume massive amounts of electricity and water, resources that are vital to our everyday life. The demand for these utilities due to the proliferation of these centers is not just leading to a strain on our local power grid, but the costs associated with this increased demand are being offloaded onto us, the residents. We face higher utility bills while our local infrastructure suffers, all for facilities that provide no tangible benefits to our community.

The presence of these centers poses a real risk to the sustainability of our environment and infrastructure. The energy and water required to run them could instead be channelled into projects that benefit our community, such as local businesses and residential developments. Our community deserves to focus on projects that enrich our lives and sustain our locality, not on entities driven solely by external corporate interests.

By signing this petition, we urge our local government to permanently ban the building and operation of AI data centers within Rogers County. This action is essential to ensure that our resources are prioritized for initiatives that genuinely benefit the people who live here. We need sustainable growth that considers our resource limitations and benefits the entire community without imposing unnecessary burdens.

Join us in standing against the unnecessary strain on our resources and preserving our county's sustainability and economic welfare. Sign this petition to demand a permanent ban on AI data centers in our county.
