The Issue

I grew up surrounded by Oregon's magnificent landscapes and vibrant communities. It's a place I cherish deeply, with its abundant greenery, pristine waters, and rich land. These are not just resources—they are a part of who we are, an integral part of our identities, and a vital component of our ecosystem.

However, the recent surge in AI data center constructions threatens this balance. These facilities consume vast amounts of water and energy, straining our local resources. According to studies, data centers can require up to millions of gallons of water daily to cool their servers and emit significant carbon footprints through continuous energy consumption. These centers occupy extensive areas of land that could otherwise support wildlife habitats, essential agriculture, or much-needed housing developments.

The concerns are not mine alone; many Oregonians echo this sentiment. We have a chance to make a stand against this encroachment and preserve our cherished environment. By banning AI data centers, we can ensure that our state's natural beauty and resources are protected for future generations to enjoy and benefit from.

By signing this petition, you're voicing your support to halt new data center projects and advocating for sustainable alternatives that do not jeopardize our environment. Let’s work together to ensure that Oregon remains a paradise of nature and community. Please sign and share this petition to protect our home.
